After a brief round of introduction from colleagues, a joint team meeting was held to discuss amongst others, the ongoing political climate, political advocacy, the African media environment, ICT policies, Digital spaces etc, as well as what the future holds for FES.
Henrik shared some insights and information on HQ's role and its perspectives on certain areas of interest.
The Head of Africa Department at FES, Henrik Maihack and Resident Director of the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung Namibia Freya Gruenhagen had a meeting with Sociology Prof. Volker Winterfeldt and trustees of the Economic and Social Justice Trust (ESJT) Herbert Jauch, John Nakuta and Rinaani Musutua, as well as youth members from the Comrades Association to discuss amongst others the "Just urbanisation and the new housing policy".
Henrik briefly explained the concept of "Just City" and how it fits within a Namibian context and was keen to learn about the housing and land issue in Namibia. Youth members from the Comrades Association also shared their personal experiences and observations on the housing crisis in the country.
Media Ombudsman and trustee John Nakuta explained and touched on the housing policy/strategy and its laws.
