Internship at FES Namibia

Internship applications are now OPEN for 2026!

Applications for internships starting in February 2026 are welcome.

We offer/your work will include:

  • Working in a small team,
  • Research on current topics in the areas of work of FES Namibia: social democracy; gender equality; social justice; just transition
  • Organising and conducting conferences and seminars; developing background papers,
  • Administrative office work,
  • for a period of 3 months.

The FES usually pays a symbolic allowance per month. All possible expenses such as flight costs, visa fees, costs for foreign health insurance, accommodation, etc. must be covered by the intern. The intern must take care of health insurance and accommodation him/herself.

You should have:

  • An interest in the socio-political work of the FES and relevant knowledge,
  • A bachelor’s degree in political, social and/or economic sciences (and, ideally, your master thesis will be thematically related to Namibia),
  • Very good knowledge of English. Excellent knowledge of German will be an advantage.
  • Sound PC, and ideally, social media skills,
  • A socio-political commitment,
  • Team spirit, commitment and a willingness to learn.
