Young Voices

The inclusion of young voices in the discussions of the 2nd edition of the public dialogue on the current state of the reconciliation process between Namibia and Germany was a deliberate effort to raise awareness and ensure that their voices and concerns are included within the negotiations reconciliation process between Namibia and Germany.

To enhance #participatorydemocracy and add value to the #socialdialogue Dr. Thorsten Hutter Germany’s Ambassador to Namibia, and Mr. Ueriuka Festus Tjikuua a representative of the Affected Communities on Genocide, Apology, and Reparation Technical Committee were invited by NID and FES Namibia.

As per the evaluation report of the public dialogue, the majority of the participants 70% agreed that the speakers presented relevant and up-to-date information on current initiatives aimed at addressing the OvaHerero and Nama genocide of 1904 - 1908.
