"Nama Voices" Pain of the Past, Hopes for the Future

Voices of the Nama Descendants were amplified by documenting the history of the colonial past in a publication titled “Nama Voices” Pain of the Past, Hopes for the Future.

In pursuit of addressing #social injustices and #socialinequality, one of the #Namavoices said: "The book launch should transcend by restoring the dignity and transforming the lives of the Nama community through the introduction and implementation of developmental projects in the affected areas of the Nama communities".

The FES Country Representative, Mr. Hajo Lanz, emphasized that the book launch was intended to provide a voice to the Nama descendants, to speak for themselves about their past, their pain, and their hopes for the future, especially at a time when their past is very much in the forefront of the Namibian landscape.

Publication is accessible at Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung Namibia Office.
