Internship information

Are you interested in Social Justice, Gender Justice, Climate Justice, and International cooperation? Do you enjoy working with people from different backgrounds? Are you value-driven, socially minded, and communicative?

We offer three months internships to students interested in gaining work experience in a social democratic political foundation. Depending on the current activities at the time of your internship, you will work individually or closely with office colleagues or project partners.

The duration of an internship should not be less than eight weeks. Internships usually do not exceed three months.

Prospective interns should have the following:

  • A Bachelor Degree (or higher) in Political Science, Social Science, or a related field (i.e., International Relations, Economics, Development Studies, International Law, African Studies and Development Studies, etc.).
  • Commitment to the political ideas and values of FES
  • Interest in pushing for social justice in Namibia and the region.
  • Strong written and oral English language skills.

We expect interns to assist our team in the following areas:

  • Organisation of activities such as public dialogues and workshops/seminars
  • Actvity-related Research
  • Writing of reports and analysis
  • Contribution to Strategic planning
  • Project related Administration

Applications should include the following:

  • Motivation letter
  • CV, possibly with letters of recommendation
  • Dates of availability

Applications will be considered on a rolling basis. According to our regulations, please note that FES Namibia will not bear further costs incurred, such as flights, visa fees, lodging, evaluation of tropical fitness, and insurances. These expenses must be carried by the applicant. We will however, provide advice regarding visa matters and accommodation.  As a general rule, the FES will pay a monthly allowance.
